Positive comments

I loved the relevant case studies and the common everyday links that were made to each topic. It made the information learned more relevant and easy to remember and understand. It was an excellent learning experience

The course overall was interesting, and the course work and the teaching style were overall efficient.

It is awesome

The cases, videos, everest, energy drinks. I like how the everest case study went showing the journey and how it occurred. The material stuck in my mind, as well as the bacteria case. Relating exciting things to boring science

The teaching format was what more courses should offer. Very engaging and thought provoking. Enjoyed the way that the course material tied into current events.

The way you presented the material with good accuracy.

I loved the cases and the preparation allowed for class so students were engaged and actually learned also loved all the in class discussions. I think this course was at the peak of learning experience. I learned more in this course than even in any other classes, even them all put together.

She not only motivated me to learn in this class but in all my other classes as well. I wish all my teachers were like her. She makes school and learning so much fun!

The interactive videos. I’m a visual learner so I appreciated those. Plus Sarah is the bomb, she knows what she is talking about and extremely nice person.

Videos, powerpoints, Sarah WIlkinson. The way Sarah taught and gave us multiple ways to receive information and learning material.

I loved how this course challenged me. Sarah presented this course in a way that took science (a topic that terrified me in high school) and made is fascinating and enjoyable. She is very accessible when you have questions and really take the time to teach you. I also liked how she related course content back to our specific programs.

It was very open, welcoming and relaxed. It make me want to explore a bit more into science. This class helped even the worst person in science get science.

I like how well prepared Sarah is. She uses a lot of media to grab our attention. She posts many videos and quizzes to get us to think. She’s fun and knows how to interact with her students.

Different methods were used in the class. Especially the videos. Teaching method. Makes us learn a lot of things. Great professor!! Good Job.

Sarah Wilkinson is an absolutely phenomenal professor. I was stimulated mentally and learned a lot. She kept us highly engaged.  I would take her classes over and over! Amazing!

I liked how engaging and interesting Sarah and her lesson were. Very pro-active.

Very fun!

The way in which the material was taught and also the expectation. It was nice to be in a general education course that was taught like an elective.

During the cases about well know people and athletes.

The material itself was interesting. Everest with the body was very cool.

Topics were entertaining and fun to discuss in class.

Love the incorporation of group work and lectures, it keeps me focused and the activities get me excited to come to class!

Very intriguing class. Every lesson was interesting. Having an outgoing prof also created an atmosphere I enjoyed being in. Best class to be at 8:00AM

Constructive criticism

I would like it if we could do more case studies, I find it useful to be able to relate the more abstract knowledge to more practical applications.

Focusing less on the cells and making it less science. I know alot of this stuff has to do with science but you can cut down on it a bit.

The project as the final should have been given earlier.

I think this course could have been a better experience for myself personally if they was no weekly online quizzes... they should be replaced with take home assignments. I also think individual assignments work better than constant in-class group assignment. The midterm exam was also way too in-depth (detailed) and difficult considering some people haven’t ever taken a science class int he past and this is an elective.

More polls maybe? It’s hard to say because this class was one of the best I’ve had this semester.

When Sarah gets excited about a topic, she talks really fast. She just needs to slow down a bit.

If we focused more on extreme conditions.

It will be better if you can post all the notes in class to blackboard.

Moving to a different time spot.

Experiments, although your class interaction is good.

 Probably more projects.
